Mr. Hart graduated from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1974 with an A.B. degree, having majored in Anthropology. He received an MBA with majors in Finance, Marketing, and Management and Policy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in 1977.

He began his career in 1974 at the Northern Trust Company where he managed both personal and institutional investment portfolios in the Trust Department. His management responsibilities for individual and institutional accounts grew to over $1 billion for over 100 charitable, foundation portfolios.

He received his CFA charter in 1983. Also in 1983 he joined Continental Bank and subsequently helped create the bank’s institutional investment management subsidiary, Continental Capital Management Corporation, with $2.1 billion under management.  Bill continued as a Managing Director and CEO of Continental Capital until he formed Hartline Investment Corp. in 1990.

He has a strong track record utilizing a disciplined valuation approach aimed at growth companies as well as a special knowledge of the needs of tax-exempt and taxable fund management. His “Risk Management” is an important concentration in Hartline’s approach today.

Mr. Hart is also a minority owner and Chairman of the Board of national Advisor Trust Company bringing trust services to Hartline clients. He is a Director of the Earth Education Institute, an international environmental educational organization.  Bill lives in Wilmette, Illinois.
